St. George Island

What a great day to celebrate Labor Day then going to the beach all day. I mean all day to from 10am -5pm. We all look like a lobster. We ate lunch went shopping and back to swimming. We had a blast. There is no way to describe what kind of day we had.

The BEACH is intoxicating . The smell of the ocean. The wind in your hair. The laughter of children will bring a smile to any ones face. The ocean is a place I feel at home. Steve and I are consume by the effect it has on us. It's like the ocean calls for us. So much that we are looking for a beach house to call home.

The boys love the water. I think they were meant to be fish. Christopher was learning how to swim. Justin was jumping off Daddy and Uncle Adam's shoulder's. We played football till our arms were jello. It was a clam day until the waves picked up but nothing like what they were the day of Issac.

                                                      The sand between my toes.
                                                         The sun hitting my face.
                                                        Hunting for seashells.
                                                            Getting a tan.
                                                         Wearing my shades.
                                                          Losing my shades.
                                                          Making sand castles.
Laughing and smiling all day long.
Makes a day at the Beach.

Military Minds

https://www.facebook.com/#!/MilitaryMindsYT
I have talked before about helping our Military Men and Women in many blog post. I read a story of a 23 year old Marine who shoot some of his co-workers. It makes me sick that he went to serve our country and in return he gets nothing. No help Nada! I'm so sick of hearing about Marines and other Military killing themselves and others. Where is our government to help these men and women? I don't think our society does enough for our soldiers. They sacrifice so much for our freedom. It makes me upset that people are just thrown away like yesterday trash. I come from a Military family. My stepfather was in the Army who served in Desert Storm in 1991.  My grandpa also served in Army which made my Uncle follow his foot steps. Like father like son. Sadly they both passed away not because they died in war. However it left a lifetime of scares. My Uncle had many problems trying to deal with what he had seen and did. No one understood him at all but a few who served with him. My Uncle Don Served in Korean War. It is not talked about much we never hear about it. Just like this war we are in now. People have forgotten we have troops that are still in Afghanistan . We need to get them out. My husband and my cousin both are Marines who served. My cousin was overseas three times. My hubby once which made being married to extraordinary man who will stop at nothing to see his family. He came home safe to our children. Our men and women need our support.  My other Uncle Bob served in the Vietnam War war who seen his share of Violent things. Take a visit over to Military Minds on facebook or www.greenbeanscoffee.org to buy our troops some coffee. Please help where you can they need us. Send an email to one just listen to what they say it may just save their life. It is a little bit of chaos coming from a background like this. I think it only makes you a stronger person inside and out. You learn to appreciate the little things in life like grass.God Bless our Men and Women please pray for their safely.

This is the story I talk about above. It's something that should have never happen if he had the help of others to enforce that it is okay to feel the same way you did overseas. Like Military minds on facebook there are people who can help.

Homade bouncing balls

What you will need:
Borax
corn starch
Elmer's Glue-All
warm water
food color (optional)
measuring spoons
2 bowls

I looked all over the place for Borax. I could not find this stuff anywhere until I seen what it was. I must have walked pasted this a million times before. It's laundry detergent. Who would have known? My hubby and I just laughed at the fact we were brain dead for a minute. I guess that is what happens to you when you become parents.

Bowl 1
I took 2 tablespoons of warm water added it to the bowl.1/2 teaspoons of Borax mix till dissolved.Add food coloring if you want about five drops or so.

Bowl 2

Add 1 tablespoon of glue but I used a full 4 ounces bottle for a bigger ball.
I then added 1/2 of the Borax mixture above. With one tablespoon of cornstarch. Don't mix let it set for 15 seconds. Then mix till you can't. Take it out of the bowl and make a ball with it as if you were playing with play dough. It will harden up fast. Your hands will be a mess. Don't worry it will only stain for a day maybe.

It took us many times before it came out right. I still think we have to do this a few more times.Needless to say we had fun. It seems to be that food coloring stains hands and clothes. Who knew? The glue comes off easy with a little soap and water. The ball really does bounce. I was a little surprise since it took us six times before I could take a picture of what we did. Christopher being silly he tried to eat it. I would advise against it since it is glue. If you have little ones please keep an eye on them if you are doing this craft.
