Give a smile

Shopping the other day at Walgreen's we were approach by a women wanting us to help her buy a few things. Now, I have seen her all over the place walking sleeping in the park at one of the parks I take my boys to. She looked like she needed the help. I understand being homeless as I was there once in my life. I remember what it felt like what it felt like to be hopeless. It wasn't fun and not anything anyone should have to go though in life. You would think it wouldn't be an issues in today's world but it is. My son and I gave her $20 dollars I wish I had more on me at the time. There is also a man who waits on the corner with a sign and a dog. Sometimes he is by Burger King with a few other people. We collect and buy food for our local animal shelter this time we have put dog food in our car to give it to him next time we see him. If you have extra anything money, clothes, food please give when you can. We do all the time we try and help daily to put a smile on someone's face. Pay It Forward today and everyday. Be safe as always when dealing with people you don't know. Please keep that in mind. Thanks for reading!

Flour Free Waffle

Protein Waffles
1/2 Cup Old Fashioned Oats
1/2 Cup Low Fat Cottage Cheese
2 Eggs
1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
1/2 Tsp Vanilla
1/2 Tsp Cinnamon
Dash of salt
I also added 1 teaspoon of pumpkin spice to add flavor.
Mix and add to your pan or waffle pan. Be careful not to over load the waffle maker or you will end up with a mess.
It's a mess trying to clean this up because you can't stop it from poring over the sides. Christopher always helps me cook. I have to say some of our funniest moments are in the kitchen. He thought it was going to explode. I love cooking with my kids. They are a riot I tell you. We hit the deck not once but twice. The last time it made noise we really did think it was going to explode. Thankfully it didn't and our breakfast came out just fine. We added some fruit and a little nectar. You haven't lived until you had nectar.

Tortilla Soup

Here is the tortilla soup recipe from one of the readers.

2 cups of the shredded chicken
One 32oz box of chicken broth
One can corn(drain)( I used fresh corn )
2 handfuls chopped cilantro
One squeezed lime
One can diced tomatoes (reg size)( Again I used fresh tomatoes and cut them into pieces)
One can diced tomatoes w/ chilies (if you can't find the can get another can of diced tomatoes and a can of diced chilies)( I used only one jalapeno pepper I really don't do hot stuff my boys and hubby do)
1/2 large yellow onion
One can black beans( I used fresh beans and boil them first before adding which I'm not sure I like)
2-3 table spoons of tomato paste
2 teaspoons of cumin
2 teaspoons of chile powder
2 teaspoons of garlic powder

Dump everything in a pot and simmer for ~30 minutes. Garnish with cheese and crispy tortilla strips!

This is how Christopher takes a shower to see.

Being a mom is great. Christopher is growing up. I'm amazed by how much of an impact a little person can make. I get people that stop me in the gym to ask if Christopher is my son. How they pick me out of the crowd I still don't know. I always respond by the dark hair loud mouth  overdramatic little boy. Which by the way is from me or his brother and Father. They laugh and say yes. He loves to encourage people no matter who they are. He greets them with Hello. He will hold a conversation with you. He may be little but he understands a lot. Justin didn't have a good game yesterday.  His team lost 22 to 6. Justin came off the field when Christopher ran up to him tap him on the arm. He said "It's okay brother. You will get them next time. Did you have fun?"
Justin response by saying yes.
"That's all that matters."Christopher says
It's funny how much he listens to me and repeats me. Christopher has my attitude. He is my sidekick. He is in the stage where is gets things now. Crossing the street as an example. We stop look both ways I ask him why do we do this. After going over it a million times since he was one. Now he gets it "Mommy we look because people don't pay attention and we could get killed."
Now his biggest concern is that he will get stuck into the bathroom drain where he thinks rats hide. He also thinks he will be green. My child has one of imagination on him.  He is an old soul and is currently speaking in past tense as if he had a life before. It's a little weird.  When he will tell us he died but came back because God built him. He keeps me on my toes.  I wouldn't have it any other way. We are getting ready to try soccer again.  I hope it works this time.  He has no patience at all. My popsicle is one of a kind.

Martin Luther King - I Have A Dream Speech - August 28, 1963

Spend the time and watch this. His words should have lasted many many years but over time what he has fought for seems to be lost. This week my family and I will be studying the life his work of a real man who put his self in danger to save others.  It's amazing how many people have lost their way in the events that happen in Ferguson. I wonder how many people know their History? How many people have read about Martin Luther King ? Do you know anything about his life? Did you know when he walked in Memphis in 1968 to get equal pay for garbage collectors his walked turned into a riot? It broke his heart that undisciplined black angry youths started to break windows and  looting.  According to the book written by Robert Jakoubek.
Nonviolence is what Dr. King wanted nothing more then to be seen as civil people. Change the way people treated each other. Change the world for a better place his children could grow up in. Now, Look at our world I believe he would be heart broken to see what his race not all of them but the ones who don't value life have turn his words around. This man lived a life fighting for what is right. In order to get a life time of wrong to move forward. I grew up in Detroit Michigan. I had my run in with people who hated me because I was white in Elementary school. Something that turned into hating the Mexican as I got older. I was never taught to hate someone because of the color of their skin. Yes, I'm White and Mexican so what box do I check? I grew up in a white household that never spoke Spanish nor did I ever study the culture until I was seven. Yes, My skin is three shades darker then my sister who is white as the snow. We are as different as night and day can be. Growing up downriver was hard. I can't fathom what it was like growing up when I wouldn't of been able to sit next to my sister because of the color of my skin. By the time I went to High School I was on my own. I didn't have that need to worry life was kicking me in the ass. I had bills and school to worry about. As I have a family of my own I think they should know the struggles of the past to create a better future. February is Black History Month which they won't talk about in my son's school they won't even talk about daily events let alone the past. Three years ago my son was playing basketball with another little boy. He was black his mother yelled at him for playing with my son. In fact she called him a cracker. Now, If I was younger that would have been a very different story. What I found to be more disturbing was the fact my son at the time just turned nine had no ideal what his mom meant. The little boy turned to my son to tell him he could come out later to play when his mom went to work. When my son asked why he couldn't play the little boy just said his mom was crazy. That my reader's is how children learn to HATE others of any race. Hate is taught you are not born to hate others.  Now, I felt guilty in a way that my son didn't know the different of skin colors. It was something that was never an issue. In my family and friends we have someone of each background every race and color. My Mother is white my Bio- Dad is Mexican my best friend is black and I have a Uncle who is gay. I have a very large family and my extended family is even larger. Explaining Black History to my children is a lot harder then I thought it would be. If someone is nice to you then you should be nice back. Never throw the first punch but you better finish the fight.  You are not someone's punching bag.Walk away if someone is calling you names never go down to their level. Speak up and protect the ones who can't protect themselves. I grew up following this as I have told my kids the samething. Our conversations in our household are always interesting as now my four year old is asking questions about his color.  My oldest son has his whole school rethinking about what should be talked about when it comes to Black History Month. It's the small things can change the world. Dr. Martin Luther King took a huge step to change the world. What are you doing to make things right?

Shredz Toner, Burner and BCAA's

New supplement' are a plus when you are trying to take it to the next level. I'm finding along the way working out is my drug. It's what keeps me sane. The Detox are vitamins the Burner helps you keep going it makes me sweat like a pig.  I haven't tried Beauty yet because I currently take my BCAA's that help with keeping level with that extra push when I want to give up. I have found that if I seem to crave a certain food I can take one scoop of my BCAA's and I'm good.  The only downfall I see with this brand is that it gives you no insight on how or when you should take it. You have to do your own research.

I found the website a little hard to understand for example the Detox use to be called multivitamin. Detox to me means something totally different then taking a vitamin. The Detox or Multivitamin made my nails brittle not sure why. I might wait a few months and try it again.  It's like that with the Alpha female stack which is what is shown in the picture to the left.  It comes with the Burner, Detox, and Toner. I called but you can only leave a message never a live person. I went to Instagram to see why it was taking so long for my order by then it was past two weeks. They gave me some bull about waiting to collect all the orders from Black Friday. It didn't make sense to me with over a $200.00 dollar order. If they were out of stock then tell me that. Be honest with the customer when they are spending a pretty penny for your product. That's my opinion! The rebuild is what you take at night to help your muscle rebuild and recover while you sleep. I'm not sure if I like it because of the fact it makes me sleep like a ROCK! I don't feel refresh in the morning I find it hard as hell getting out of bed in the morning. I have never taken a sleeping pill however I have taken a magnesium pill to sleep and didn't feel like I did with rebuild. It suggest taking one or two 30 minute's before sleep. I'm good with one two I feel like I was asleep for years. It comes with a 60 day supply I'm half way through it.  F.Y. I it will put you to sleep in less then 30 minutes.
The BCAA's are excellent to drink during my workout it gives me that extra push to finish or add that extra rep. It's also good to drink if you want to settle a craving which for me is ice cream. I would be careful it does suppress your appetite. Taking any supplement's you should talk to your doctor and do your research first look at reviews talk to people and see what works for you. You don't have to take supplement's at all just keep that in mind.

I just started taking the Toner which is a female non bloating creatine. That will help build your muscle. I take the burner in the morning and the toner in the evening. Which the website doesn't tell you how to take it. It's fun calling my hubby for tips on this stuff since I'm new at it. I want a tone look with a six pack. After 30 days I went to 150lbs to 143lbs. Now, I can see the definition in my body. I love it!!!

Overall I do like the product as a whole. Wait for one of their sales to try it. It is a little on the pricey side. The peanut butter chocolate protein is my favorite. I have made cookies and pancakes with it. I drink one protein shake a day even on my off days mixed with 10 oz of water. The tank tops are extremely comfy. I can't wait till they have the pant's to match. They promote them like crazy on Instagram but don't sell them yet.(update:Oct 2015 Now they sell them) It seems like a new company if you like them stay with them. I think I will. I'm on my second order which came in four days. They must have a note on my file send quick or something this last time. Until next time please workout to get fit not skinny!!!

Update you can also buy Shredz at GNC
