Community Food Drive

Community Food Drive

 August Acts of Kindness
  • Peanut butter
  • Jelly
  • Boxed cereals
  • Canned meats (with pop-tops)
  • Boxed macaroni and cheese
  • Pork 'n Beans
  • Canned soups

Justin and I are going around the neighborhood collecting items for the food drive. It's a lot of fun to continue to show my children how to help others in need. We just donated six bags of clothes to the YMCA to help out parents in need along with a car seat and playpen. One of the items I should have never spent my money on neither of my children used the playpen. We are now working on donating books with http://www.betterworldbooks.com/
We ended up with about 70 books and 20 cd's we sent.

Here’s the best part: In addition to selling new titles, Better World Books supports book drives and collects used books and textbooks through a network of over 2,300 college campuses and partnerships with over 3,000 libraries nationwide.

                                              That is GREAT!

This is what we are doing to help out it's one way among many others. What are you doing to help? I would love to hear from you please leave a comment or visit my Facebook page the link is on the right side of my blog. Thanks for reading once again be Kind to one another.

The Life in the Sun!

I love the picture above. Our little one keeps us all on our feet even at the Beach as he thinks he can catch a bird and take him home. One of us is always running down the Beach chasing him. My wonderful hubby was surfing with our oldest playing catch digging to China like the GREAT Father he is. He did get stung by a jellyfish. I have to admit after I was stung in the eye I'm a little worried about the Jelly's but not enough to keep me out of the water. It was the worst pain I ever felt in my life my face hurt for 48 hours. I was not letting anyone pee on me. Which is a myth the best thing for a jellyfish sting is vinegar. That is a must need item now when we travel to the beach.

I love The beach it's nice to go and relax in the sun. Here are some pictures of last weekend at the beach I can't wait for this coming up weekend we are going to watch the Surfing contest at Cocoa Beach. The hubby and I agree we want our son Justin to watch it before we start him in classes since he already has a full plate with Hip Hop dance class, Soccer and Choir class this year already.

It amazes us how well he learns new things like surfing. He is a pro he just started this year. His surf board is huge he takes it out with daddy.

He has been a dancer since he was born. He sings all the time but now has taken a huge interest in it. I love being a mom. I'm very proud of Justin school already started three weeks ago he has good grades tons of friends. I couldn't ask for a better kid. He is a huge influence on his little brother. Christopher wants to do everything his big brother does. They have a wonderful relationship as brothers it makes my heart happy to see how they interact with each other.

However his idea of bringing home this sea turtle shell was not going to happen it would have never fit in our car nor on top. He wanted to bleach it and make a slide out of it. I love your idea's kid just not this one it still had dead meat in it.

Until next time have a wonderful day! Thanks for reading.

Helping Out

                                                         The Hunt/Do Something

I Heart Dad
The boys and I completed all 11 challenges which was a lot of fun. I'm a little late on this post from last month but I wanted to let you know this is a great website to help out on. My boys and I try to find something everyday to do just to see a smile on someone's face. Yesterday we made a zip lock bag full of toothbrushes, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, tissue and a gift card for a homeless man instead of giving money to them. As always be safe if you stop to help someone please use common sense to keep yourself and love ones safe while doing a good deed. Try to come up with some new ideal's of your own to help someone in need. It will teach your children there is more to life then they can see. Good luck please feel free to share your ideal's

Help us Donate I did today.

We have done this a few times along with

Texting and Driving

http://www.itcanwait.com/

Sign up today and take the pledge no text or email is worth it. I see so many people texting and driving it makes me sick because they are all over the road not paying attention to driving at all. Driving is a privilege not a right. It's a gift drive safe.

Anyone who text and drives deserves to get life for killing someone. No excuses at all once they lock up DUI drivers the first time not the 10th time then we can start locking up the distracted drivers.

How do you Forget?

The video above is of a child being left in the car while his mother goes shopping. She forgets her child. How in the world do you forget your child? Two not one person walks by the car and leaves the child sitting in his sweat to die. How do you walk away knowing that that child may die? This makes me sick beyond sick. I don't care who you are if you see a child in a car you need to call the police right away. I have done it a million times it's simple take out your phone put your finger to the keypad and dial 911.  If I have to break a window to get someone else child out of a hot car I will do it. Then that person may want to seek shelter because I will want to hurt you. It is your business too many people walk away from things that happen in life because it doesn't involve them. Common sense people use it that is way GOD gave you the ability to think.

                         NO EXCUSE

There is no excuse for a parent to leave their child in a car. I have no sympathy for any parent who does this. I think their sentence should be the same way their child died in a hot child in the sun. There is nothing more important than your child. When people realize this our world would be a better place. They should not be able to have any more children along with their sentence at all it should be the law. This makes me sick I think I would have gone off on that dumb lady. Right there in the parking lot she had no reason to cry she doesn't need to be a mother. She doesn't deserve the title! I can't tell you how many people would like to have children and can't. My children are the first thing on my mind 24/7. They are my life they are the reason I breathe the only reason I can breathe they make me breathe. No excuse absolutely no excuse for the parent neglect for their child.

NO child should be left in a car if you can't decide if you should or not. Then hand your child over to someone who can take care of your child because you clearly can't. These are my views on this subject and I don't think it will change. If you are offended by my statement then you are guilty of the above.

Mickey

Meet my cat her name is Mickey she is almost a year old. She likes coffee and will follow me until I leave my cup. I will find a cat's head in my cup on return. She follows me around everywhere like the bathroom just to see what I'm doing. I can't pee in private without her sitting on the sink next to me. She has a habit of licking my face to wake me up. I think she is a dog in a cat's body. She likes to play hide and seek with my boys. I have never seen a cat jump ten feet in the air like she can nor a cat that will let a bug walk right by her without moving. She will sit and lick your arm, head, hair, toe and face out of nowhere. Like now as I write she is licking my arm sitting on my lap non-stop. Strange is not the word. She sits and waits between the shower curtain while I take a shower. She has a bad habit of sitting on the tub when Christopher is taking a bath. It never fails he pulls her in every time. You think she would learn but still goes back. She likes to scare the living hell out of us by hiding and jumping out of nowhere. On top of her weirdness she likes to come up to us to take a little nibble. Why I'm not so sure. She hates it when the boys and I play around she will take your arm off in a second if one of us screams like we are in pain. It doesn't matter if we are or not she goes in protect mode like a dog would. She hates it when it rains.
She loves the fan and thinks Christopher's bed was made just for her.

She sleeps like a toddler and takes up all the room.
Yes, We co-sleep as you can see I was kicked out of the bed.

She loves to be involved in everything we do. Maybe she is a kid in a fur coat.

She loves to travel.

She like the web.

Her name is Mickey the cat.

Crafts & Hobbies

Here is a craft you can do that is fun. The boys and I collected money for over a month. You know spare change from around the house, outside and just plain old fashion saving. We counted out $15.00 dollars in gold dollar coins. It took us three days to count, roll and separate all the change. We ended up with $150.00 that's not bad for saving over a month for it. Justin had a great ideal to save it and use it for none other than Christmas money. We are off to a great start so far. It's not all about materialistic things you can buy for your children it's what you teach them that will stay with them forever. My hubby and I have seen that with just saving for a month and a half. It brings us much joy to see that with my oldest it's not about what he gets or can buy it's about helping others putting a smile on another person's face.  His little brother birthday is in October he will be 3 Justin has already bought him stuff that he hide in a tote with his own birthday money he got. My ten year old is turning out to be a great thoughtful little man Thanks to us.

We took all the coins that my hubby and I have been saving you know the half dollars, gold dollars even the state quarters with the flat pennies my son has collected from where ever we visit. We took them and hot glued them on a piece of cardboard to display in our living room in a 8X10 picture frame that we tried to get it to look like the state Florida. I just thought I would share this with all the coin collectors out there like myself this is a great ideal to display some of your coins.
Have Fun!!!

Done with my 30 day challenge

30 Day Arm Challenge - Are You Up For It ?

I started this challenge on July 2 I just now seen that I put the wrong month on the picture on the bottom. Oh well it's July not June. I have been very consisted  with my workouts listed above along with lifting weights at the gym. This week I reached a level 18 in resistance in cycling. If you have ever taken a class 18 is hard as hard. I'm still working on reaching a 21 like the teacher it might take me a few weeks to break in 18 to get there.
July 2

I agree.Cycling is not for the weak. You start a class off by stretching your arms out. The teacher puts on a song and the class starts. Everyone is jamming on their bike like we are in a race with each other. Then she calls for a half circle which is where you only use your legs no upper body. This part is hard your top rpm should be at an 80 mine is like a 70. I rarely pay attention to any other numbers besides my heart rate that spike to 185-190 at this point I feel like I'm going to pass out. My breathing is heavy but I can control it pretty good to get it to come back to 170 where it is nice to be at. I can breath normal. Yesterday our fourth from our last song took forever I thought it would never end we had sprints, up and downs, jumps and circles I made it. I still went to the gym to lift weights it's getting harder. I can't complain I love the results I see everyday.
Lifting weights is my new favorite at the gym. Take a look tell me what you think. I haven't stop I'm just on my next challenge is keeping up with what I have already done.

I'm on day 8 of the 30 Day Arm Challenge. http://www.lifeisonlywhatyoumakeit.blogspot.com

Subject: Be Alert & Cautious / Must read!!

A man came over and offered his services as a painter to a female who was putting gas in her car and left his card. She said no, but accepted his card out of kindness and got in the car. The man then got into a car driven by another gentleman. As the lady left the service station, she saw the men following her out of the station at the same time. Almost immediately, she started to feel dizzy and could not catch her breath. She tried to open the window and realized that the odor was on her hand; the same hand which accepted the card from the gentleman at the gas station.

She then noticed the men were immediately behind her and she felt she needed to do something at that moment. She drove into the first driveway and began to honk her horn repeatedly to ask for help. The men drove away but the lady still felt pretty bad for several minutes after she could finally catch her breath.

Apparently, there was a substance on the card that could have seriously injured her.

This drug is called 'BURUNDANGA' and it is used by people who wish to incapacitate a victim in order to steal from or take advantage of them like REPEATED GANG RAPE. This drug is four times more dangerous than the date rape drug and is transferable on simple cards.

So take heed and make sure you don't accept cards at any given time alone or from someone on the streets. This applies to those making house calls and slipping you a card when they offer their services .

PLEASE SEND THIS ALERT TO EVERY FEMALE YOU KNOW
