Craft for Today

I love making crafts with my boys. Of course I seen this on Pinterest.

Do-it-yourself Christmas fireplace to hang your stockings from! Do NOT try to use it to burn the Yule log, though.:

I didn't have plain boxes I had post office boxes. We are forever sending stuff to my hubby. Now that he is home for good we no longer need our boxes. I would say about twenty dollars later after construction paper and glue. This is how ours turned out.

We even added a fire to ours. Christopher's idea. I love it! It's too cute. Christopher loves looking at Pinterest. He wants to make crafts all day. It was easy to make as long as you don't have cat's taking your stuff. Have fun and build something.

Steps:
1:Stack the boxes. If you use big boxes you will need five.
2:Tape the boxes together
3:Add white paper on it. I used wrapping paper.
4:cut out  red construction paper
5:then glue

Sombrero cookies

Everyday the boys and I will be learning about Mexico. Today is a food craft. It's simple just make some sugar cookies then you will put frosting around the rim of it we used lime frosting. Add sprinkles a candy drop for the top now you have a sombrero cookie. It was really messy sprinkles everywhere cats swimming in it. Godzilla really is the demon cat sometimes. He was rolling around in the sprinkles on the kitchen floor licking himself it was insane! We still had a lot of fun cooking.  Christopher and Justin loves to be in the kitchen with me whipping up something new everyday. Justin's day to cook is Friday can't wait to see what he will be cooking to celebrate Mexico. Happy Cinco de Mayo! !

Something to try

In light of Cinco de Mayo try some guacamole. I make it all the time Justin loves it. I don't have a picture because by the time I made it then took it to the table it was already gone. Justin bugging me in the kitchen as a few chips go missing. Never fails that and salsa doesn't ever last long. We are in Day 4  of celebrating Mexican Heritage Month. It's so nice when we are studying something as a family it is enjoyed by everyone. Just a fun fact did you know there are 19 million people living in Mexico City. That is twice as many people who live in New York according to the book we read last night. That is a lot of people. There are 56 native languages spoken in Mexico. Just rambling today just thought I would share. If you are going out please be safe don't drink too many margarita's. Have fun dance laugh just love the day ahead.

23 Day's In

We have taken this month to be a religion month. Reading the Bible has been fun in the land of milk and honey. If you read the picture below you will understand. Justin thought that was really funny. I have to agree it was and explaining it was more then I could describe without laughing.

It's hard to explain the bible to my children when I don't exactly believe with everything that has been written.  One day at a time. I am finding out that my children have more questions about God which leads me to the King James Bible. That in turn leads to a bigger discussion with my wonderful husband. He doesn't believe in the written word either  but if you listen to him speak it sure sounds like he is preaching the word of God. Amen! I have to admit if he was a preacher I'm going to hell for having impure thoughts about him.  I say that out loud and we both laugh. Then I feel guilty and ask for forgiveness. Religion is a complicated thing. Especially when you're getting ready for church and have to choose a perfume the names of them just make you feel bad.  Do I wear Sexy, Fancy or Endless Weekend. Do you see my dilemma? Then telling the boys not to hit each other bug or lick each other makes me think if God makes them bug me for his own amusement. Just getting there seems to be a huge task.  Someone always spills something somewhere gets their clothes dirty or has to pee right as we are pulling out of the driveway.  Going to church is so complicated sometimes! Some people take it to extreme.  It's not God or whoever you pray to it's his followers. If you believe in something that's all that counts. Don't let anyone else tell you different.  This is just apart of my family's journey into the land of understanding something new.
